No, seriously – is there good LIFE full of bright colors and simple joys or making little money sentences us to a raw plain survival challenge and fight for cynical existence? Does low income make us live just for paying a bill and awaiting for the next one, endless budgeting, balancing on the blade of poverty, extreme saving, counting pennies and constantly feeling depressed and down while working every waking hour?
Well that depends on your attitude. đ Of course of you measure your life in bank account numbers, brand names, fancy restaurants or Cartier and Tiffany’s jewelry than of course falling on a low income might indeed be tragic. But if you’re optimistic and motivated and find your daily joy in making your own world awesome without taking pride in showing-off ginormous price tags — I’d say you have more of a life than some of the wealthiest people do. đ
‘Money money money – must be funny in a rich man’s world’… (Boy that song just got stuck in my head and I guess there’s no way to kick that one out!) That’s kinda symbolic though – how does life look ‘up there’, in those posh penthouses full of glamour, glitter and absurdly expensive modern art nonsense paintings?..
In other words, we all would like to be better off financially. But sometimes we gotta deal with realities where our income lacks those multiple zeros at the end of a number. Cause we are simple people. Hardworking and wanting to take the best we can out of what we make. We are happy cause we can experience so much joy from free B-day dessert at Olive Garden. We can appreciate yard sales and Pinterest DIY projects, we become experts in home cooking and gardening, we can fix broken things and work from home, we create and re-purpose… We are living our High Life On A Low Income.
